Nothing Says Luxury Like 40 Lorries

Motorway Homes Become Britain’s Hottest Property Market

Estate Agents Declare: “Nothing Says Luxury Like 40 Lorries an Hour”

PORT TALBOT, WALES — House prices have reportedly rocketed for properties situated directly beneath a motorway bridge after buyers claimed the constant traffic noise was “surprisingly relaxing” and the concrete overhead provided “Britain’s largest free gazebo.”

The biggest demand is said to be for homes located beneath the M4 motorway, where traffic passes approximately 45 feet (14 metres) above the gardens every day on the main route between London and South Wales.

Estate agents have been left stunned.

“Five years ago nobody wanted these properties,” said local agent Malcolm Evans.

“Now we’ve got bidding wars.”

“One couple even offered £40,000 over the asking price because the bridge had recently been resurfaced.”

The trend began after homeowner Aimee Williams, 34, posted a glowing online review of life beneath the motorway.

She wrote:

“I call it my free gazebo.”

“I love it under here. When it’s raining you can walk to the shops without getting your hair wet.”

Her comments have since gone viral.

Quentin Thrustbucket, reporting for The Daily Scrotum, visited the property.

“I expected constant misery,” Quentin admitted.

“Instead, I found neighbours happily holding barbecues while articulated lorries thundered overhead every few seconds.”

Aimee proudly showed reporters around her garden.

“This is our outdoor dining area.”

She pointed towards several concrete support pillars.

“And these are our weather-resistant pergolas.”

Her husband added,

“We haven’t bought an umbrella in seven years.”

Local residents insist there are many unexpected advantages.

One man said,

“I never worry about pigeons.”

“They’re far too sensible.”

Another claimed,

“The traffic overhead acts like white noise.”

“My baby only falls asleep when the rush hour starts.”

Estate agents have quickly adapted their sales brochures.

Luxury features now include:

  • ✔ Integrated all-weather gazebo.
  • ✔ Built-in motorway soundtrack.
  • ✔ Zero chance of sunburn.
  • ✔ Excellent shade for garden parties.
  • ✔ Ideal for people who enjoy shouting.

One brochure even advertised:

“Stunning three-bedroom detached property with overhead transport links included at no extra cost.”

Developers have begun taking notice.

One planning application proposes building an entire luxury estate called:

Motorway Meadows

Its promotional slogan reads:

“Close to the M4… Extremely close.”

Property experts remain baffled.

“We used to talk about sea views,” one analyst sighed.

“Apparently the future is HGV views.”

Meanwhile, local children have embraced the lifestyle.

Rather than counting sheep, they now compete to identify passing lorries by engine note.

One youngster proudly announced he’d correctly identified a refrigerated supermarket truck before anyone else.

At the time of publication, Aimee was relaxing in her garden with a cup of tea while rain poured down all around the motorway bridge.

Looking up at the endless stream of traffic overhead, she smiled and said:

“People spend thousands building garden gazebos.”

“Mine just happens to carry the M4.”
