Trump’s Chilling New Deal: The Bid to Buy Iceland
In a surprise press conference held in front of a suspiciously melting gold lectern, Donald J. Trump announced his boldest geopolitical manoeuvre yet: the acquisition of Iceland.
“I love it,” Trump declared. “Cold. Strong. Beautiful. Tremendous freezers. Everyone says so.”
Advisers exchanged nervous glances. One junior aide quietly whispered, “Sir… do you mean the country?”
Trump waved him away. “No, no, the brand. I’ve been there. Saw one in Swindon. Huge potential. Frozen empire. We’re buying all of it.”
Within hours, a delegation was dispatched to Britain, armed with red MAGA hats, a briefcase full of NDAs, and a laminated map of retail parks. They arrived in Croydon and immediately attempted to negotiate with a baffled assistant manager stacking fish fingers.
“We are here to acquire your nation,” announced the lead envoy. “On behalf of President Trump.”
“You’ll have to speak to head office in Deeside,” replied the teenager, scanning a box of hash browns. “Also, the till’s broken.”
Unperturbed, Trump took to social media.
“Just had GREAT talks with Iceland. Very cold, very efficient. Their peas are world-class. Deal imminent. UK very happy.”
Downing Street, however, was less enthusiastic.
“We cannot allow an American president to annex a frozen food retailer,” said a spokesperson. “Particularly one with a strong presence in Luton.”
Trump doubled down. “Look, they already have flags. Blue and white. Just like a country. They even have embassies in retail parks across Britain. It’s basically a nation already.”
He unveiled his vision: The United States of Iceland (Frozen Division). Every store would become a consulate. Every freezer aisle, a strategic defence corridor. The prawn ring would be elevated to national treasure status.
“I’m bringing jobs,” Trump said. “And waffles. America needs more waffles.”
Negotiations collapsed when Trump demanded the removal of “unpatriotic” items such as “Vegetarian Lasagne” and “Economy Fish Pie,” insisting all packaging be replaced with his face giving a thumbs up.
Iceland’s real CEO eventually issued a statement:
“We are flattered by the interest, but we are not for sale. Also, we are not a sovereign nation.”
Trump responded minutes later.
“Sad! Iceland pretending it’s not a country. Very dishonest. We’ll build our own. With better nuggets.”
Plans are now reportedly underway for a rival chain, tentatively titled Trump’s Tremendous Freezer Republic, due to open in Florida, featuring:
- Freedom Fries (now more free)
- Patriot Pizzas (square, aggressive, undercooked)
- An entire aisle dedicated to “Fake Peas”
Experts warn the concept may struggle.
“Running a country is hard,” said one analyst. “Running a freezer is harder.”
Trump disagrees.
“I’ve run hotels. I’ve run casinos. How hard can peas be?”
