Marble & Hygo’s Great Thai Curry Challenge
By Bertie Bumblewaite, Feline Food Correspondent
The peaceful streets of Thailand were thrown into absolute confusion yesterday after two house cats, Marble and Hygo, announced they were officially giving up tuna in favour of authentic Thai curries.
Their owner admitted he first suspected something strange when both cats ignored a freshly opened tin of premium salmon and instead began sniffing suspiciously around a bubbling pot of Thai Green Curry.
“I thought they’d run away from the smell,” he explained.
“They ran towards it.”
Within seconds Marble had somehow managed to get his face into the bowl while Hygo was frantically licking curry sauce off the serving spoon.
Veterinarians were immediately called.
Not because the cats were ill.
Because nobody could believe what they were seeing.
The following evening the experiment continued.
This time it was Thai Red Curry.
Marble calmly sat at the table wearing the expression of a Michelin-star food critic.
Hygo insisted the curry should have “just a touch more coconut milk and perhaps another kaffir lime leaf.”
The owner was reportedly speechless.
Things became even stranger on the third night.
A magnificent Thai Yellow Curry appeared.
The two cats refused to begin eating until someone had served it with perfectly steamed jasmine rice.
Witnesses claim Marble sniffed the aroma before declaring,
“Excellent balance of turmeric… perhaps a little more potato.”
Hygo disagreed.
“No, no, no… this curry clearly needs another chicken thigh.”
The argument reportedly lasted twenty-three minutes.
Word spread rapidly across Thailand.
Restaurants began advertising:
“Recommended by Marble & Hygo.”
Queues formed around the block.
One Bangkok chef proudly displayed a photograph of the pair next to his menu with the words:

Meanwhile local dogs watched in complete disbelief.
“First they stole our beds,” complained one Labrador.
“Now they’re reviewing curry.”
Scientists have now launched a multi-million-baht investigation to determine how two ordinary cats developed the world’s most sophisticated Thai taste buds.
Early theories include:
Too much catnip.
Watching cooking programmes while nobody was home.
Being secretly trained by grandmothers from Chiang Mai.
The investigation continues.
As for Marble and Hygo?
They’ve reportedly announced they are now working on a guide called…
“The Cat’s Guide to Thailand’s Top 100 Curries.”
The first edition is expected to sell out immediately—provided nobody leaves a bowl of Green Curry unattended. 🌶️😸🍛
