World’s Most Valuable Marble Spotted in Spain Looking for a Friend
Experts Say Glowing 50mm Marble Could Be Worth More Than a Premier League Football Club
ANDALUSIA, SPAIN — Treasure hunters, geologists and marble collectors from around the world have descended on the hills of Andalusia following reports that the world’s most valuable 50mm marble has been spotted glowing in the dark and, according to experts, appears to be sending mysterious signals in search of a playmate.
The dazzling sphere, nicknamed “The Lonely Roller,” was first discovered by a local shepherd walking his goats shortly after sunset.
“I thought it was a UFO,” he explained.
“Then I realised it was only about the size of a golf ball.”
Scientists rushed to the scene carrying laptops, scanners and enough equipment to invade a small planet.
Their first official report simply read:
“It’s definitely a marble.”
The discovery has sparked what many are calling The Great Marble Rush, with thousands of collectors scrambling across the Spanish countryside armed with torches, metal detectors and children’s marble bags.
Quentin Thrustbucket, reporting for The Daily Scrotum, arrived just as the marble emitted another faint green glow.
“It was extraordinary,” Quentin said.
“Every few seconds it flashed and produced what sounded remarkably like…”
‘Anyone fancy a game?’
Experts believe the signals may be an attempt to attract another marble.
Professor Nigel Roundbottom of the International Institute of Extremely Important Marbles explained:
“Marbles are naturally sociable.”
“This one appears to be suffering from spherical loneliness.”
Within hours, rumours spread that the marble could be worth tens of millions of pounds.
Auction houses immediately began preparing catalogues.
One listed it simply as:
Lot 1: Round. Rare. Slightly Lonely.
Meanwhile, King Marbles collectors from across the globe rushed to Spain carrying their own prized marbles in the hope of introducing them.
One enthusiast proudly presented his favourite Arimus marble.
Nothing happened.
Another rolled over Planet Zog.
Still nothing.
A third produced Pookie.
The glowing marble briefly flashed purple before rolling two inches closer.
Scientists gasped.
One whispered,
“I think we’ve just witnessed… friendship.”
The excitement reached fever pitch after several late-night hikers claimed the mysterious marble had begun communicating in Morse code.
After three hours of decoding, researchers finally translated the message.
It read:
“Please stop poking me with sticks.”
Local businesses have already embraced the phenomenon.
Hotels now advertise:
“Marble View Rooms.”
Restaurants offer:
The Rolling Stone Breakfast.
Souvenir shops are selling glow-in-the-dark golf balls labelled:
“Probably Not The Marble.”
Security around the site has been dramatically increased after several collectors attempted to lure the marble away using polished glass beads and packets of chocolate buttons.
One admitted,
“It was worth a try.”
At the time of publication, scientists confirmed the mysterious marble had once again begun glowing just after sunset.
Its latest signal has now been translated.
It simply says:
“If anyone from King Marbles is reading this…
…I’ve been waiting years for someone to play Ring Taw with.” 🟢
