Melania Changes Identity

“Gertrude From Croydon” Insists New Haircut and Cockney Accent Make Her Completely Unrecognisable

LONDON (SORT OF) — In a bold and frankly baffling attempt at going incognito, Melania Trump has reportedly re-emerged under the name “Gertrude”, complete with a brand-new haircut and what experts are calling “an extremely enthusiastic Cockney accent.”

“I’m Gertrude now, ain’t I,” she confidently announced while adjusting a leopard-print scarf. “No one’s clockin’ me. I’m just a regular gal from Croydon.”

✂️ The Haircut That ‘Seals the Deal’

Witnesses say the transformation includes:

  • A sharply cut bob described as “EastEnders meets high fashion confusion”
  • A fringe that “means business, but isn’t sure what business”
  • A permanent expression of someone trying very hard to sound local

A nearby stylist commented:

“It’s less of a disguise and more of a commitment to the bit.”

🗣️ The Accent

The biggest change, however, is the voice.

Eyewitnesses report hearing phrases such as:

  • “You alright, darlin’?”
  • “Lovely bit of grub, this!”
  • “I’m just poppin’ down the shops, innit!”

One café worker noted:

“She asked for a flat white but said it like she’d just come out of a market in 1987. It was impressive… but also very clearly her.”

🕵️ Public Reaction

Despite her confidence, the disguise appears to be having limited success.

One passerby said:

“She introduced herself as Gertrude, but then said ‘thank you’ in exactly the same way as Melania. Bit of a giveaway.”

Another added:

“The accent comes and goes. One minute Croydon, next minute… well, not Croydon.”

🧠 The Plan

Sources say “Gertrude” aims to:

  • Blend in with the public
  • Order tea without suspicion
  • Navigate daily life unnoticed

However, insiders admit the plan may be flawed:

“She still looks exactly like Melania Trump… just slightly more ‘Oi Oi.’”

🧢 What’s Next for Gertrude?

Future changes reportedly include:

  • Learning to say “cheers” convincingly
  • Practising queue etiquette
  • Possibly adopting a small dog “for authenticity”

At press time, Gertrude was seen leaving a bakery, loudly declaring:

“No one recognises me, I’m just one of the locals!”

Witnesses confirmed they recognised her immediately… but appreciated the effort.
