Thousands Fall Victim to Revolutionary Left-Handed USB Cable Scam

Experts confirm the cable works exactly the same… but buyers insist it feels different.

Trading Standards has launched an investigation after thousands of people reportedly spent up to £39.99 on what was advertised as the world’s first left-handed USB-C charging cable.

The website, LeftyChargePro.com, claimed the revolutionary product had been “scientifically engineered for left-handed people” and would make plugging phones into chargers “up to 97% more comfortable.”

The advert proudly stated:

“Stop struggling with right-handed technology. Join the USB revolution today.”

Within days, over 120,000 people had ordered the cable.

Unfortunately, there was just one small problem.

USB-C connectors are completely reversible.

Professor Colin Wires, Head of Completely Obvious Technology at the University of Little Snoring, sighed deeply before explaining,

“A USB-C plug works whichever way you hold it. There is no left-handed version. There never has been.”

Despite this, customer reviews flooded the company’s website.

One delighted buyer wrote:

“I’ve been left-handed for 54 years and this has completely changed my life.”

Another commented,

“It just feels more natural.”

One customer even claimed he could now charge his phone “at least three seconds faster.”

The company also sold matching accessories, including:

• Left-handed HDMI cables (£24.99)
• Ambidextrous extension leads (£18.99)
• Premium clockwise batteries (£14.99)
• Gluten-free Ethernet cables (£29.99)
• Vegan HDMI adaptors (£22.99)

All were listed as “Best Sellers.”

Cybersecurity experts eventually examined the products and discovered every cable had been purchased in bulk for approximately 80p before a small sticker reading “LEFT-HANDED EDITION” was added to the packaging.

The company’s customer service department defended the product.

“Our cables are manufactured using advanced ergonomic alignment technology.”

When asked what that meant, the spokesman replied,

“It means we’ve aligned them ergonomically.”

Consumer groups say buyers shouldn’t feel too embarrassed.

“We’ve seen people buy anti-5G crystals, bottled moonlight and digital lucky charms,” said one investigator. “Compared with those, this almost makes sense.”

Police have confirmed the website has now disappeared.

However, investigators believe the same criminals may already be preparing their next range of innovative technology products, including:

• Left-handed wireless chargers.
• Waterproof Wi-Fi.
• Solar-powered torches for use at night.
• Silent alarm clocks.
• Noise-cancelling bagpipes.

Albert Immerson has urged readers to remain vigilant.

“If somebody tells you they’ve invented a left-handed USB-C cable,” he said, “the only thing that should be plugged in is your common sense.”
